About Terjemah Risalatul Qusyairiyah

The Qusyairiah treatise is a book that maintains the purity of monotheism and creed

book written by Shaykh Abdul Karim Al- Qusyairi An-Naisaburi or known as Imam Al- Qusyairiyah, was born in Ustwa, Nisapur (Nisabur/Naisabur) in 376 H/986 AD, and died in 465 H/1073 AD. He died at the age of 87 years old. This book explains the science of Sufism.

One of the special features of this book is that from a historical perspective, the book appeared at the same time as the early days of the tarekat group. So his aim in writing this book was to bridge people's understanding of the substance of worship (not just outwardly).

The Qusyairiah treatise is a book that maintains the purity of monotheism, the correct creed, relying on the laws of the Sharia. According to al-Qusyairi, that is an absolute requirement to enter Sufism. So the Book of Qusyairiah's Treatise rejects the opinion of some people, who negatively accuse Sufism of teachings that are full of heresy, superstition and even shirk.

Imam al-Qusyairi stated that Sufism should rely on the Qur'an and Sunnah, and adhere to the faith and Shari'a.

The book of the Qusyairiah Treatise is interesting because of the author's mastery of the supporting sciences, external or rational sciences: fiqh, ushul fiqh, history, literature, and of course tafsir and hadith.

The arrangement of books written based on sub-discussions makes it easier for readers to read and understand the content.

And among the contents it discusses

Faith

Abu Abdullah bin Khafifi said: "Faith means determination of the heart towards what has been explained by Al-Haq regarding unseen things."

Abul AbSayyary said: "God's gifts are of two kinds: Karamah and istidraj. Everything that remains eternal within you is karamah, and everything that disappears from you is istidraj. So just say, "I believe, God willing!"

Sahl bin Abdullah at-Tustary emphasized: "Those who believe see Allah SWT, with the eyes of the heart, without any limitations or boundaries.

Abul Husain an-Nury said: “The heart is the place where al-Haq is witnessed. We have never seen a heart that longs for Him more than the heart of Muhammad saw. Then Allah swt. glorify it through Mi'raj, as a prelude to seeing Allah SWT, and perfection."

Abu Uthman al-Maghriby said: “I believe in something about direction. When I came to Baghdad, all that disappeared from my heart. Then I wrote a letter to my friend in Mecca, "I have now converted to Islam, to the new Islam (actually)."

Abu Uthman was asked about creatures. He answered: "Prints and shadows, over which run the laws of Divine Power."

Al-Wasithy said: "When the soul and the body are upright with Allah's permission, and both appear with His permission, then both of them are upright and not with their substance. Likewise, desires and movements, stand upright, not with their substance, with Allah's permission. Because these movements and desires are branches of the body and spirit.
