A very popular destination for Maadi residents.

As the majority of the suburb’s residents are foreigners, especially the Egyptian dignitaries, given that the British were the ones who established the Delta Lands Company. The company started thinking about establishing a sports club that would contain the people and become their recreational grounds, to attract the largest possible number of foreigners and Egyptians to the suburb of Maadi. The club was established in 1920 called “Maadi Golf Club” on an area of ​​150 acres. The company officially announced it in 1921 with an 18-hole golf course and three tennis courses. and a swimming pool. This policy of attraction was big success as alot of the wealthy and high classed people came in to buy land and build their villas, having them relocate to the beloved suburb. Accordingly the company’s shares flourished, especially after its board started allowing people to pay in installments through a 15 year mortgage. Today MSYC marks its 100th birthday since its official announcement, and will always be the lively heart of the Maadi suburb, and will always be the place where the elderly would sit and talk about their memories, while the youth create their own & future!

كانت غالبية سكان الضاحية (المعادي) من الأجانب، ، كانوا من كبار الشخصيات في المجتمع المصري على الصعيد الرياضي و الثقافي و الإجتماعي نظرا لكون الإنجليز هم الذين أسسوا شركة أراضي الدلتا (المالكة لمعظم اراضي الضاحية). فبدأت الشركة في التفكير لإنشاء ناديا يكون بمثابة الرئة للمنطقة لجذب أكبر عدد ممكن من الأجانب والمصريين إلى ضاحية المعادي وأنشيء النادي سنة 1920 أطلق عليه اسم ((نادي جولف المعادي)) على مساحة 150 فدانا وافتتحته الشركة في سنة 1921 بملعب جولف به 18 حفرة وثلاث ملاعب للتنس وحمام سباحة. وقد نجحت هذه السياسة في الترويج عن أراضي الشركة، وكثر بناء الفيلات وأقبل على الضاحية عدد وفير من الأجانب والمصرين فازدهرت تبعا لذلك أسهم الشركة خصوصا بعد أن قرر مجلس إدارتها تقسيط ثمن الأرض على 15 سنة وإقراض الراغبين في البناء المبالغ اللازمة مع تقسيطها أيضا. تحتفل نادي المعادي بمئوته العريقة منذ الإعلان الرسمي عن مرلد هذا المكان التاريخي، وسيظل دائمًا القلب النابض بالحياة للضاحية، وسبظل دائمًا المكان الذي يجلس فيه كبار السن ويتحدثون عن ذكرياتهم ، بينما يصنع حاضرهم ومستقبلهم!
