Lesson 1: FULL HOURS

1.1 Teaching: What do we need lessons for?

1.2 Teaching: Clock introduction (explanation: dial, hour and minute hands)

1.3 Teaching: Digital clock

1.4 Lessons: Full hours (explanation of reading time on hands clock - full hours only)

Lesson 2 - DAY HAS 24 HOURS

2.1 Teaching: The day has 24 hours. (in 1 day the clock hand circulates 2x clock face, when moving with hands the day / night changes)

2.2 "Try" (Children move their hands on the clock face and they will see pictures of each hour, eg breakfast, school trip, school lessons, lunch, etc.)

Lesson 3 - HALF-HOUR

3.1 Tutorial: Cutting Pies - Explaining half an hour through “whole cake ver. half the cake ”(not over 30 minutes)

3.2 Teaching: Half an hour - an explanation of learning about half an hour on the dial.

3.3 Tutorial: How many minutes is half an hour? (Children count minutes in half an hour.)

4.1 Tutorial: Cutting a cake - explaining a quarter-hour through a “quarter of a cake”

Lesson 6 - MINUTES

(For simplicity, children learn "It's six hours and 40 minutes.")

6.1 Instruction: “Minutes” - explanation of minutes on hands with clock, 1 hour has 60 minutes.

6.2 Teaching: “Reading minutes” - children click on the button and watch the time change on the clock.

6.2 Teaching: “Seconds” - Explanation of the third very thin hand on the clock.

Lesson 7 - SECOND READING TIME

7.1 Two ways of reading time - Teaching spoken forms of reading time eg "in 20 minutes four hours" instead of "three hours and 40 minutes".

1) TRY

- move your hands and the pictures will show you what is happening at that time

2) SET HANDLE

 - set the clock with the hands to 3:20 (digital to analog time conversion)

3) TEST

- 4 clock faces are displayed and the task is to find a clock that shows eg 11:45

4) SET DIGITAL CLOCK

 - set the time on the digital clock according to the hand clock (analog time to digital conversion)

5) JOIN IMAGES

- mark two pictures that belong together, pairing photos ver. digital time

6) COUNT

- Clock with hands shows the time and the user has to calculate:

a) how many minutes are missing within an hour

b) how many hours are missing until midnight (beware of the night / day symbol)

HANDLE CONTROL - the minute hand is easier to control by moving the hand on the outside of the dial, not by directly touching the minute hand.
