The Cat in the Hat Invents: PreK STEM Robot Games

Preschoolers create a robot friend. Play early learning STEM games for kids.

The Cat in the Hat Invents engages kids in engineering, design, inquiry, and using science tools.

Design, build, and develop problem solving-skills! First, kids create a customized robot who responds to their voice commands. Then join Sally, Nick, and The Cat in the Hat on a fabulous adventure and discover fun challenges along the way. Each of the following worlds contains 10 levels to explore:

Machinea-ma-Zoo - Interact with simple machines like pulleys, levers, and wedges! Your child will use them and see how can they lift the robot, and help him on his way.

Odds-n-Endsville - Everything in the world has properties. Some things are soft. Other things are spiky! Learn what you can use them for!

Windnasium - Wind is a strong force that can move things! Your child will experience using wind in creative ways, to move the robot along.

Coldsnap Island - Brrrr! Water freezes and turns into ice and snow. Experiment with ice and figure out what to do to get past frozen obstacles!

FEATURES AND TIPS

Using tools - Every challenge has at least one tool that will help solve it. Select the tool you want to try, and put it on the robot where he’ll be able to reach.

Voice command - Players can use on-screen buttons or voice commands to control their robot. For example, to get your robot to move just tap the on-screen arrows or say “Go!” The Cat in the Hat will let you know about other voice commands, like: up, down, test (to try out a new tool). Players can even motivate their robots with the encouraging words: Good job!

Allow the app to access the device microphone to use this feature. The voice command is only used to help play the game and is not recorded.

Robot customization - Players can customize their robot with stickers and patterns they find in the levels. They can also choose how their robot is feeling: cheerful, silly, grumpy, or sad. It’s OK to feel different emotions, and still take on new challenges and learn new things!
