Radzyń Podlaski and its surroundings

This audio guide will take you on a stroll around the enchanting town of Radzyń Podlaski.

It lies in the northern part of the Lublin region. Although it’s not that large, it’s a powiat town ... in other words, it governs a powiat ... a district ... which is Poland’s second level of administrative division. And it’s history as a town stretches back over more than five centuries.

Radzyń Podlaski boasts two architectural jewels ... an eighteenth-century Rococo palace ... and the Renaissance-Baroque Church of the Holy Trinity, which dates from the seventeenth century.

Our stroll around the town begins in the courtyard of the palace, which is a feast for the eyes not only on account of its form, but also for the masterly, sculptural details. And the palace orangery offers an equally beautiful sight.

Our stroll will move on to the centre of the town and give you an insight into its history.

One aspect that’s particularly interesting is the story of the town’s multiculturalism. A large Jewish community lived here right up until the Second World War.
