Noor Jehan, better known by her honorific title Malika-e-Tarannum, was a Pakistani vocalist and on-screen character who worked first in British India and after that in Pakistan. Her profession spread over seven decades (1930s– 1990s). Noor Jehan was eminent as one of the best and most compelling vocalists all things considered and was given the honorific title of Malika-e-Tarannum (the ruler of tune) in Pakistan.
