The ICOM General Conference will be held in Japan for the first time in 2019.

More than 3,000 museum experts from 141 countries/regions around the world will gather in Kyoto. A flood of discussions and exchange of ideas on museum-related issues will sweep the city during the week, providing valuable opportunities for you to engage with other museum professionals who may be facing the same issues as your museum, and to make new discoveries, broadening your experience and understanding of the museum world.

Museums have the potential to connect various elements in our world’s diverse cultures – connecting museum to museum, connecting community and society, connecting generations, connecting people all around the world, connecting the past to the future.
