The school was established in 1896 as a primary education centre by Shri. V R. Appumaster. Shri. Appumaster and Manayil Kuttanmaster were the teachers in the beginning. In 1927 this institution was upgraded as Thaikkad south Higher Elementary school with public examination in 8th standard as the rule was.The first Headmaster was Sri. V R Appumaster, the founder. Afterwards a number of eminent teachers enriched this institution by their outstanding proficiencies. This institution which continued as an upper primary school for 56 years was upgraded as a high school in the school year of 1983-84.At that period the manager was Shri. V A Balaraman Master, the elder son of Shri. V R Appumaster. After the sad demise of Shri. Balaraman master his son Shri. V B Heeralal has taken over the position of manager who developed the school to a Higher secondary school.At present Smt. C T Maggy is the Headmistress to High school and Smt.Jithamole Pulleli is the Principal to Higher secondary school. With every body's co operation the school maintains greater achievement in scholastic as well as co scholastic areas.
