Allah is the Arabic word for God in Abrahamic religions. In the English language, the word generally refers to God in Islam. The word is thought to be derived by contraction from al-ilāh, which means "the god", and is related to El and Elah, the Hebrew and Aramaic words for God.

According to Islamic belief, Allah is the most common word to represent God and humble submission to his will, divine ordinances and commandments is the pivot of the Muslim faith. "He is the only God, creator of the universe, and the judge of humankind

However what is mentioned in the Quran and Ahadith are His actions. When addressing mankind, actions of Allah (swt) can be best explained using words that employ the same terms when describing human actions as that helps us understand better. Similarly we find many actions of Allah (swt) in the Quran and the Hadith related to human actions but that does not mean He has a physical description like our’s.

According to a hadith, there are at least 99 Attributes of Allah, known as the ʾasmāʾu llāhi l-ḥusnā Beautiful Names of Allah. The names are also called 99 Attributes of Allah.

As per Islam the moment you compare the creation with the Creator, He ceases to be the Creator. His uniqueness is what makes Him our Creator. The moment we succeed in comparing Allah (swt) with His creation in any way, we will be claiming something for which we have no direct proof from Him and this is a sin. This is obviously due to the understanding that ‘There is nothing like Him’.
