Good App

2018-06-01

The app for Domino's Pizza USA is well organized and very user friendly.  The developers have done a great job of making this application so easy to understand and use.  The reason(s) I gave the app 4 stars instead of 5 is not the fault of the developers, however, I believe the improvements that could be made are important.

The more important of the two issues I see has to do with premium toppings.  The app does not indicate that any sauce other than the tomato sauce is considered a premium sauce and counts as a topping.  Also, the app does not indicate that there is an extra charge for premium toppings.  Also, chicken (described as Premium Chicken) is a premium topping and incurrs an additional charge when ordered.  When a customer selects a premium topping, the Domino's app should notify the customer that they have selected a premium topping and an additional charge may/will apply.  This would help to avoid confusion, when a customer sees a higher price than expected, at the checkout screen.

The second problem I have found is that the order tracker inaccurate.  We live close to a Domino's Pizza that recently opened in our city and we have been giving the pizza, and the company, a second chance (especially with the big changes that have taken place with Domino's Pizza 's competitor, which has included huge price increases).  We have been taking advantage of the carry out specials being offered.  So far, when the tracker has indicated that our order is ready and we have arrived to pick it up, the order has not been complete and we have had to wait approximately 30 minutes, before the order was actually ready to take home.  Based on the day of the week, time of day, local events and sports, or other, events on TV, the employees at each store usually have a good idea of how long it will take for an order to be ready.  Perhaps, there could be a way for workers to enter the approximate time, in minutes, when am order will be ready, for example 40 minutes.  The app could then show/stretch that 40 minutes across the tracker bar.  It might not seem like a big thing, but for individuals or families with a child who must eat on a strict schedule, this would give a more realistic time frame for when an order will be ready for pickup, or for when an order will be delivered.  Also, it might help to prevent having too many customers at a store location, waiting on orders for long periods of time and it could help prevent situations involving angry customers who arrived at a store location, expecting their order to be picked up, only to find that their order is not yet completed and they will need to wait to get their order.  I hope these comments will get back to the app developers or to those at the top levels of Domino's Pizza USA.
