Mega Man is an undeniable classic. The story finds a mad scientist named Dr. Wily attempting to take over the world by reprogramming six powerful robots to do his evil bidding. The robots' inventor, Dr. Light, is shocked to see his creations causing such chaos &#Array; and so he modifies one of his housekeeping robots, Rock, into the super fighting robot, Mega Man. The new hero then sets off on his quest to defeat the good 'bots turned bad, then track down and bring Dr. Wily to justice.

A side-scrolling platformer on the surface, Mega Man's game design set itself apart with its unique approach to action. You run, jump and climb ladders like many other platforming games from the '80s, but combat against enemies is all weapons-based. Mega Man is equipped with an arm cannon that blasts foes from a distance &#Array; an idea completely removed from jumping on baddies' heads or striking at them with swords.
