Earlier today, Elon Musk tweeted a post, in which he reclaimed his decision about changing Twitter's bird logo, saying "Interim X logo goes live later today."
On July 23, he posted a series of tweets showing that a big logo change may come very soon. One post he sent on Twitter confirmed his logo-changing decision, tweeting on his Twitter account ”And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.“
Ever since Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX, bought Twitter at about $44 billion dollars in October 2022, there has been a series of changes happened to this super popular social media platform. The first big change he made after he took ownership of Twitter is to disband Twitter's platform Trust and Safety Council and restore a long list of suspended Twitter accounts. And this July, one of the most invisible changes to Twitter is already underway - the Twitter logo is going to change from a bird to an X.
Elon Musk made repeated claims about his 'everything app' desire after the Twitter acquisition and he also announced to the public that he was planning to create this super app and named it 'X'. There are many speculations on whether he will build this 'everything app' from scratch or not.
Now he plans to replace the Twitter bird that hasn't been changed for many years with an 'X', which means he may want to grow Twitter into a super app. If he decided to turn Twitter into 'X', Twitter users can soon expect many more exciting new features and services coming to this giant social platform. It may be not just about video streaming and tweet posting in the near future. Many features involving payments and direct messaging may be concluded on Twitter very soon.
Subtle clues have shown before posting the two tweets about replacing the Twitter old-decade logo with a new X. On July 23, he created a poll for Twitter users to vote on painting the original blue color of Twitter's icon image into black. Over 70% of Twitter users who participated voted "yes". And one hour later, Elon replied to this poll with a black Twitter bird picture and a few words "Like this but X."
After the announcement posted that he prefers the 'X' to the black Twitter, he continued to post a series of tweets to show his liking for the letter X. In one tweet posted earlier today, he shared his picture with the 'X' logo and added that he likes the letter 'X'.
