Mobile Legends Approved to Launch in China
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is a multiplayer online battle arena game created and distributed by Moonton, which is owned by ByteDance. It was launched in 2016 and became increasingly popular, especially in Southeast Asia. The game has now achieved over one billion downloads with its highest monthly player count reaching 100 million users.
The game allows players to engage in 5v5 battles with other real-life players in real time. It features three lanes, four jungle areas, two bosses and a total of eighteen defense towers which provide endless opportunities for fighting. Although it had not yet been approved for release in China at the time, this approval has now been granted as of April 20th, 2023.
The NPPA recently released a list of 86 games that have been approved for release, and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was listed at number 57 with the name The Pinnacle of Decisive Victory. ByteDance's game Planet: Reboot, which is based on civilization themes, was also included in the list of approved games.
Moonton is excited to provide a fresh gaming experience for Chinese players and they are hopeful that Chinese groups will join the global esports ecosystem of MLBB at the earliest opportunity.
