Metal Slug: Awakening Closed Beta Test Starts on June 28, 2023

Metal Slug: Awakening, the highly anticipated mobile game, will have a Closed Beta Test starting on June 28 in several areas including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.

It has been announced that Metal Slug: Awakening Closed Beta Test will not include Singapore and Malaysia. However, VNGGames previously stated that the game would be released in 8 Asian regions, leading many to believe that these countries may still be included in a future phase of testing.

According to VNG Games, the community groups of their game in Singapore and Malaysia are highly engaged on social media platforms like Facebook and Discord. They have gained almost 10,000 members so far, which has made the company happy with the support from fans in these areas.

Metals Slug: Awakening is a mobile adaptation of the popular run-and-gun game that has been licensed by SNK and created by TiMi Studio. The development process was fully supervised, with the game being unveiled at Tencent's gaming conference in 2021 before its release in China Mainland this April.

Besides the nostalgic elements, there are many new features and improvements in the game. These include upgraded graphics from pixelated to 3D, a combat mode that is intense and exciting, as well as two new thrilling modes called 'Hot Pursuit' and 'The Maze'. Additionally, players can interact with each other using a social system or join guilds for epic battles or exploration of the world map together.
