But who was Moses?

The baby whose mother placed in a basket and left in the Nile River.

The man who was a shepherd in Midian for forty years.

The one who conversed with Jehovah * in front of a burning bush.

The one who led the Israelites in their great exodus from Egypt.

The man whom God used to part the waters of the Red Sea.

The one who gave the Israelites the Ten Commandments in the name of God.

MOSES had all those experiences and more. It is not surprising that this faithful man is so respected by Christians, Jews and Muslims.

Without a doubt, he was a prophet who performed impressive acts (Deuteronomy 34:10-12). But even though God used him that way, he was just a mere human being. He was a “like-minded man,” just like the prophet Elijah, who appeared with him in a vision that took place in the days of Jesus (James 5:17; Matthew 17:1-9). Moses went through many of the problems we face today, and he successfully overcame them.
