I'm pretty sure as long as this is 100% free to download and play and all registered trademarks remain intact for copyright purposes then there is nothing illegal about it. Don't you know that Nintendo is having a hard time striping the Internet of their well known emulators and ROMs on numerous sites because they are free to download and play. This isn't illegal and the copyright doesn't seem to be infringed upon.
