The city of Tsu is the capital city located in the center of the Mie prefecture. It is rich in natural beauty with beaches for swimming and catching clams, Aoyama highland where visitors can enjoy viewing seasonal plants while hiking, and Misugi area which is recognized as a base for forest therapy.

There are also historical heritage sites such as ruins of Tsu Castle built by a master designer, Todo Takatora, Senshuji temple, the head temple of Takada sect of Shinshu founded by Shinran, and its surrounding town, the garden at the Kitabatake mansion which is an important mid-century cultural heritage site and designated a national historical site, and Yuki Shrine which is famous for plum blossoms.

A shrine enshrining Lord Munehiro Yuki (? - 1338), who contributed to the establishment of a new administration dedicated to Emperor Godaigo (1288 - 1339). The tombstone is erected in the compound, and it is also famous for 300 magnificent Shidare plum trees planted in remembrance.
