Capturing the Energy is an industry-wide collaboration aimed at ensuring that important records about the UK offshore oil and gas industry are retained for the future. The project is based at the University of Aberdeen and has received funding from industry body Oil & Gas UK.

The Capturing the Energy interactive mobile app features a selection of stories that highlight the work of the project, from producing archive collections about well-known oil and gas fields such as Brent and Murchison, to charting the transformation of Aberdeen brought about by the industry, and using images and sound to get a sense of what it’s really like to live and work offshore.
