John Dummelow's Commentary on the Bible (Trial)

This commentary was put together by forty Bible Scholars and was edited by Dummelow. It was well received by many different denominations. At one point it was one the most popular commentaries of its time. It provides detailed introductions and concise comments necessary for every minister and student.

The commentary is noted for two merits.

1) It combines to an excellent measure completeness and conciseness. As Bishop Anderson stated, it contains "more information attractively presented than can be found in the same amount of space in the whole realm of Bible Literature."

2) Second, it has an excellent religious reverence and an exact scientific rigor. Ministers and theologians of many denominations and various shades of faith have appreciated its "conservative liberalism".
