Word-of-mouth marketing, also called word-of-mouth advertising or referral marketing, is an inexpensive way to promote the products or services provided by your company.

This technique applies to virtually every type of business. The technique is quite simple: you use a satisfied customer with your brand as your promoter and have that customer promote it to your friends.

Example: Let's say you want to bring new clients to your beauty salon. You can offer a reward to those customers who invite 3 new customers. This reward can be a service provided by your salon. To increase campaign effectiveness you can offer some benefit to new clients also. This causes your promoter to make the disclosure even if he doesn't have much interest in the reward.
