Screen patients for Niemann-Pick type C disease using the advanced NPC-SI 2.0 Niemann-Pick type C disease (NPC) is a clinically challenging disorder. Due to its heterogeneous and non-specific symptomatology it can be very difficult to diagnose. To aid physicians in identifying patients for NPC testing, a group of renowned NPC experts collaborated with Actelion Pharmaceuticals Ltd. to produce the NPC Suspicion Index (NPC-SI).

Using new analyses of an expanded patient cohort, a new and improved NPC-SI 2.0 has been developed and provides the following benefits compared with the original Suspicion Index:

1. Two age group-specific indices to ensure correct assessment of patients of all ages: NPC-SI 0–4y for patients up to 4 years of age and NPC-SI >4y for patients over 4 years of age

2. Improved scoring system compared with the original NPC-SI

3. Superior at discriminating patients with NPC from those without compared with the original NPC-SI

The NPC Suspicion Index app will allow you to:

• Facilitate the identification of NPC patients

• Assess the likelihood of your patient having Niemann-Pick type C disease and take appropriate action based on the results

• Email the results
