The beginning of the story was that the group did not have any cheese, so the group began to move in search of cheese, and the mice separated from the two dwarves in the long corridors of the maze in search of cheese.

One day, the two groups found an aisle full of cheese in a place called the Cheese Station, and the two happy cheese dwarves took a set of measures to consume cheese without being envious of time.

Sniff and Scurry arrive at the cheese station one day to discover that there is no cheese. They are not surprised, as they noticed that the supply of cheese was decreasing daily, and this was not a problem for them, as they instinctively knew what they were going to do.

As for Hem and Haw, they arrived late that day at the cheese station to find that there was no cheese

Meanwhile, Sniff and Scurry found a new source of cheese at the Cheese Station after searching the maze, while Hem and Haw are still at the Cheese Station, affected by the loss of cheese and blaming each other for this predicament.

Haw, who hopes to change the situation, suggests searching for a new cheese, but Hem, accustomed to the old routine and afraid of the unknown and change, rejects the idea again.

The two dwarves remain without cowardice for several days, which they spend in disbelief and denial of what happened
