About জাতকের গল্প

Jatak's story - these eternal stories are as instructive as they are easy to read.

Jatak is the story of many past births of Lord Buddha. According to Buddhists, no one can become samyakbuddha by the karma of one birth alone. Lord Buddha was born on earth as a Bodhisattva as an animal, bird, human, deity, etc. In all these births he exalted his character by giving alms, friendship, non-violence, benevolence etc. By being born again and again, he purifies himself and eventually becomes a 'Buddha' or a 'sage'. These previous births of Lord Buddha are called ‘Bodhisattva-births’. Buddhists call this state the Abhisambuddha state. In this state, the Buddha could gain national memory and remember all his past births. Later, after listening to all these words, he would give sermons to the disciples and improve their character.

Jatak stories are an invaluable resource of ancient India. The stories of Jatak, written about two and a half thousand years ago, are as captivating as they are instructive. In addition, the stories of Jatak are written in the background of the contemporary era and society, so the stories provide a clear reflection of the time and society of that time.

The stories of Jatak became so popular that its obvious influence can be seen in our ancient stories such as Brahatkatha, Kathasaritsagar, Proverbs etc. Not only in Sanskrit literature but also in Arabian Nights, Greek literature, Aesop's fables, Democritus's Dogs and Reflections, Plato's Lion-Covered Donkey, and Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice.

Jatak's stories are equally popular today because of the sweetness of the subject and the simple style of writing. The Jatak's Story app tries to re-serve those eternal stories in simple language. If the readers like it, we will think that our work has been successful.
