Ashtalakshmi is one of eight special forms of Hindu goddess Lakshmi. They are the eight sources of wealth, the symbol of the power of Lakshmi Devi. Astralakshmi Lakshmi is a minor variation. The word Astalakshmi "wealth" means prosperity, well-being, knowledge, energy, children and power. Ashtalakshmi is worshiped simultaneously in the temple. According to Sri Astalakshmi Sutra, Ashtalakshmi is -

Adilakshmi or Mahalakshmi - the incarnation of Lakshmi as the daughter of Lakshmi and the sage Bhrigu.

Dhanalakshmi - Lakshmi means money and gold jewelry.

Dhanalakshmi - Lakshmi, a farmer in agriculture.

Gajalakshmi - Lakshmi, a wealthy herd of cattle and elephants. According to Swami Chidananda, Gajalakshmi conferred kingship. According to Hindu mythology, Gajalakshmi Devaraj gave Indra back his lost wealth from the sea. Basudha Narayan interprets the word "Gajalakshmi" as "Gaj, meaning Lakshmi worshiped by elephants".
