He mentions a few of his virtues and the virtues of his ancestors and his family after him

So says its author

(As for what follows): The compiler of these blessed newspapers is the poor servant of God Almighty, Abu Al-Hassan Ali bin Al-Hassan bin Ahmed Al-Wasiti by nationality and the origin of Al-Shafi’i in doctrine. Al-Rifai is a rag and a drinker, may God forgive him. He says this book was named (The Compendium of the Elixir in the Lineage of Our Master Al-Ghawth Al-Rifai Al-Kabir) and it was limited to it. In mentioning the pillar of this pure lineage and its branches, the people of great deeds, I refrained from prolonging and going into depth by mentioning all of the family of Fatima, peace and blessings be upon her, for the lineages of her honorable family were mentioned by many notable people, and this great book is a special service to the lineage of our Sheikh, the blessing of his eternity, the apple of his pure, virginal grandmother’s eye in his era, with the determination that makes With God’s help, the small becomes great, and with its brokenness you turn the corrupted dust into an elixir. The Lord of Glory, whose due he fell short of, the Praiseworthy One and the Possessor of Glory, who completed kissing the hand of the Beloved of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, in the presence of the banner of pride and prosperity, Sayyid Ahmad Muhyiddin Abi Al-Abbas bin Abi Al-Hasan Ali Shihab Al-Din bin Yahya Abi Ahmed Al-Husseini, known as Al-Rifai Al-Batahihi Al-Wasiti Al-Ubaidi. May God Almighty be pleased with him and his pure forefathers, and benefit us all through them (and here I begin by mentioning the original) and the series of branches until they end, God willing, to the master referred to and relied upon. Then I mention, by God’s grace, the layer of his blessed house to reach our time in this way of brevity and succinctness, being content with their fame that has traveled the course of Youth in the regions (O God), O to whom every anxious person resorts and from whose generosity every righteous and kind person hopes, ease our affairs for us, expand our chests with the blessings of this pure family, and gather us with them under the banner of their grandfather, the master of humanity, and just as you provided assistance in the beginning, so do the ending, Amen.
